Mofcom issues winners for rural PC subsidy program, aka 电脑下乡
The results are in for PC makers that will take part in the subsidies program that aims to boost consumption in the countryside. By offering a 13% rebate, the Chinese government is hoping rural consumers will open their wallets to help increase sales of household appliances and IT products. For most companies, it won't make much of a difference. But it's good PR for companies and the government. Download the list of winners (if you can call them that) here. Pinched for time now, so I'll write more later.
