Nokia-Siemens largesse exceeds EUR1B in China, expands TDD-LTE team
Sina is reporting that Nokia-Siemens spent as much as EUR1.2 billion in China last year on purchasing. The company also noted earlier this month that it was increasing its TDD-LTE design team in Hangzhou, suggesting that it hopes to do better in the local 4G equipment tenders than it has in 3G.
That should not be hard to do, given that Nokia-Siemens has performed poorly in the early TD infrastructure tenders, and overall it’s only taken 6.8% of the 3G equipment market in China, according to a recent CCID report.
